The first PNRR calls for the digitisation of municipalities and schools were published in April.
These calls are related to digital identity, App IO, pagoPA, cloud and digital services.

Digital identity growth continues: 30 million SPID identities surpassed
Important milestone was reached for SPID. At the beginning of May 30 million digital identities in Italy were surpassed, 10 million of which were activated in the last year. This is an important growth, considering that the number of digital identities was less than 6 million before the start of the pandemic.

By 18 July Public Administrations must carry out the classification of data and services
By 18 July 2022, Public Administrations must carry out the classification of their data and services according to criteria defined by the Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (ACN). The ACN will then be called upon to verify the information declared by the entities. The government has published a notice allocating EUR 500 million to local authorities in order to facilitate this process.

Guidelines and regulation on sanctions for private entities published
The Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale (AGID) has published the Guidelines on the accessibility of IT tools for private entities with an average turnover – in the last three years of activity – of more than five hundred million euros. At the same time, AGID also published the regulation governing the methods of assessment and exercise of the sanctioning power.
Videoconferencing and remote meetings
Local authorities must adopt specific regulations to hold meetings by videoconference
The Ministry of the Interior has published an interpretative circular on the possibility of holding city council meetings by videoconference. In particular, the Ministry has clarified that holding meetings by videoconference requires the adoption of a specific regulation.
